A Small Model with a Big Story

A picture of a Lego box

When NEAT (Newby Engineering and Technology) was appointed to provide specialist input at KGX1, we recognised an extraordinary opportunity to contribute to a landmark piece of engineering. As an independent firm that thrives on providing innovative solutions to challenging problems, it was a project that played to our strengths. And we wanted to mark our involvement with something a little different.

Designed in-house and hand-assembled by our team, this small-scale model is our way of celebrating the creativity and collaboration behind the project. Fewer than 125 of these sets have been assembled, so if you’re holding one, you’ve got something special. That said, because each one was lovingly put together by hand, there’s always a small possibility that a piece or two may be missing. If your set isn’t quite right, just let us know via the form below, and we’ll get the pieces to you as soon as we can!

This model might be small, but it reflects something bigger: our approach to every project. Thoughtful, detailed, and built with pride.

Who We Are – NEAT

You wouldn’t guess it from this model, but we’re not actually professional LEGO® builders by trade! We’re engineers, problem-solvers, and the kind of people who get excited about a new technical challenge, whether it’s a 2,000-tonne structure or a 2,000-piece model.

NEAT is a forward-thinking firm of Consulting Engineers that specialise in the investigation and testing of materials, products, and workmanship. We don’t shy away from complex or unusual challenges; in fact, that’s where we thrive. Whether you need a non-standard test, a CPR 35-compliant report, or simply a trusted professional opinion, our team of experienced engineers takes pride in getting to the bottom of the problem and helping you find the right way forward. As a truly independent firm, we take pride in providing objective, truthful and trustworthy answers. We will always give you the facts, no matter how unexpected or inconvenient! We work across a wide range of materials, industries, project sizes, and stages. Always with a personal and hands-on, flexible approach!

If you’re not quite sure who to speak to, speak to us. We’ll review your problem and provide a practical path forward.
